If something gets FUBARed in Windows, I can just re-image from backup and don't have to worry about re-activating anything. I transferred a Windows 7 pro key from a laptop to a Mac. You’re gonna have to buy a new one because when Oem one’s are used they are locked to hardware. I have no idea how I re-used an oem key on windows, but it might be because I bought a new key for the laptop and I guess it unlocked the oem key but I’m not 100% sure.
